DOMINICAN REPUBLIC MINISTRY OF TOURISM ANNOUNCES INTERNATIONAL DESIGN COMPETITION

Wow, $15,000 and a trip for two. Get out your crayons and get to work kiddies. You only have until the end of the year to submit your creations.

The Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism is inviting graphic designers to create a new tourism logo in an international design competition to celebrate the remarkable increase in the number of global visitors to the holiday hotspot.

“With nearly five million visitors from around the world visiting the Dominican Republic each year, we are thrilled to give young and emerging designers the opportunity to showcase their skills in a fun and creative way,” said Magaly Toribio, the DR Ministry of Tourism’s Vice Minister of International Promotion. “The new design will help us visually represent the Dominican Republic’s natural beauty, rich history, and vibrant culture to travellers worldwide, and will appear on all Dominican Republic tourism promotional materials.”

The winner of the competition will receive a seven-night vacation for two to the Dominican Republic and a cash prize of US$15,000.

A premier destination for Canadians, the DR is renowned for its tropical beauty and striking coastlines, diverse accommodations and activities, championship designer golf courses, captivating cultural events, and more than 500 years of rich history, art and architecture. Nearly 25 per cent of the DR has been protected as national parks and nature preserves, making it the most bio-diverse country in the Caribbean.

Deadline for entry in the logo design competition is December 30, 2009. For full details on how to enter, including terms, conditions and prizes, please visit: http://www.concursologosectur.com/idiomas/ingles.htm
